Mongrel Puppies Need a Home

Fatty Puppy

Friendly Puppy

Frightened Puppy

Here is a BIG BIG thank you to all those who helped to advertise the puppies' plight. They have all found owners now.

These puppies are now being fostered at a construction site. Fatty Puppy loves to eat. He has a very placid, calm temperament and clearly prefers to be lying down and observing than running around. Friendly Puppy looks the most dominant of all. She is unafraid and readily approaches strangers to check them out. The funny thing though is that she is the runt of the litter - smallest in size of all the 3. This one has spunk and spirit. Or maybe she's just stupid, and has no notion of danger. Friendly Puppy may be more suited to a family with some dog experience. Frightened Puppy is not a dominant female even though she is bigger sized than her brother and sister. She is anxious and easily frightened but is quite affectionate when she knows you will be nice to her.

Do help me spread the word to rehome these puppies. Just email this link to all whom you think will be able to provide a loving good home. Otherwise, they will almost certainly have to be put down. If you want the puppies, please leave me a contact in the comments section. I won't publish your comment so you need not worry about privacy.

  10. Cheralyn: Yes they are!! I brought Frightened Puppy home last night. She spent the whole evening and this morning on my lap. She must have been badly frightened because every time I put her down she whines and wants to climb back on. Then, when she is on, she promptly dozes off.

  16. I have seen HDB dwellers with mongrels too. As long as they don't bark too much and distrub the neighbours, I think should be fine.

  19. Ohxn: If you are really interested, leave a number. If not, then it's ok too. I hope to find these dogs a home. But if they have to be put down, then so be it. I would have tried my best.

  20. Hi there ! Your article was recommended by my sister. Question : are the puppies still looking for a new home, or already fostered away ? Thanks for your feedback. Cheers

  21. Lin - No... they are still available. Mongrels are not popular with Singaporeans, who prefer branded dogs. But they are very resilient dogs (because not inbred). You will save a bundle on vet bills. And they are very loyal and affectionate.

  26. Daniel - Do you have prior dog experience? If not, you may wanna read up on how to train dogs. Make very sure your dog knows that you're the boss. This is the best way to protect her. Unless she yields to your leadership, she could end up irritating other people and then it is always the dog that will get abandoned or put down. Train her well from young and you will enjoy her much more. My 2 cents. Hope ya dun mind.

  27. Petunia - yes. I do have prior dog experience. :)
Used to have a Maltese before, but it died of old age...
No worries on that, though having the experience, I will still read up more on it. Hope to improve too... :p

    Will train frightened well :D

Have prosperous new year to u n ur family!!
